Saffron relishes in not being a typical girl.

“I dress very comfortably – nothing too tight or revealing – since I’m not exactly very ladylike,” said the teen whose father is English and mother a Chinese Singaporean.

ANDREA is no stranger to modelling competitions. She won her first at 10.

“I won a catwalk competition for kids in a mall. I came out tops and I won a few bags of potato chips and other toys,” she said.

“The surprising part is that I looked rather dorky when I was young.”

APRILE is a citizen of the world.

She was born in Melbourne, Australia, and, thanks to her father’s job, she lived in Houston, Texas, before moving to Singapore six years ago.

She is now a Singapore permanent resident.

Aprile also speaks Japanese and Mandarin.

FERLIN used to be called “sausage lips” – all because of her full lips.

“It definitely undermined my confidence level even when I ignored it. “It made me feel insecure and unsure of myself,” she said.

JADE is dyslexic.

She was diagnosed with the condition - difficulty with learning to read fluently and with accurate comprehension -when she was in Primary 1.

She said: “My mother realised I could not even spell my name.”
