She finds S'pore men shallow

May 14, 2012 - 12:10am

Sweet and mild-mannered Felicia Chin has made a very bold statement: Local men lack quality.

The 27-year-old actress, who has dated only Singapore men so far, wrote in a column in the April issue of a Chinese magazine: "It’s hard to find mature and steady men of the olden days like my father."

She has also said that (local men) are a little bit arrogant and think too highly of themselves.

In a nutshell, she said local men lack quality, maturity and have no substance.

Other celebrities, though, don't quite agree. And, we get some reactions on the street to her comments:

can't comment?

SO DAMN TRUE. Singaporean men: No creativity, no fashion sense, no quality, no courtesy, no manners, no ideas, no humility, no common sense, no logic, full of themselves, and wearing flip flops thinking it is cool.

The commenters who are men, and local, who denies the above facts are exactly what Fiona is describing. You all "are a little bit arrogant and think too highly of themselves"

I think it is not just a little arrogant, Singaporean men are completely stupidly arrogant. I don't know what it is in their blood, but an ugly Singaporean man, who is nothing more than a salary boy, should not be boasting about his super mega awesome life to strangers.

*Rolls eyes* ? You seem to be exactly what a Singaporean man is. In denial and completely oblivious to the fact that not only you are a nobody, you lack any kind of interesting character.

Singaporean men, please get better. You watched Korean tv shows? Hollywood movies? Hong Kong movies? Yeah, emulate them. And remember, the cool people do not wear flip flops and shorts to a fine dining restaurant like you.
