She wanted to go clubbing, but she was not yet 18.
So Liu Yifan, a 16-year-old Nanyang Junior College student, borrowed someone’s identity card and tried to get into St James Powerhouse on March 24 this year.
Yesterday, Liu, now 17, pleaded guilty to using someone else’s identity card without lawful authority.
She could face a jail term of not more than 10 years or a fine of not more than $10,000 or both.
Considering her age and the fact that she was a first-time offender, District Judge Soh Tze Bian called for a report to gauge her suitability for probation.

If a man had sex with an underaged girl, who shows proof that she is over 18 (by producing an IC saying so, although the IC does not belong to her), is it a mitigating factor for the male (Or, can he get off free) if he is prosecuted for having sex with the underaged girl?
