What should have been a simple act of courtesy took a nasty turn after a middle-aged woman, who claimed to have a leg injury, berated a young woman (above), who gave up a train seat for her.
She gave the impression that she was entitled to the seat and said it was only right for the younger woman, who looked to be in her 20s, to give up the seat to her.
She also accused the younger woman of staring at her after apparently grudgingly giving up her seat.
The incident on an East-West Line train that was heading towards Pasir Ris on Monday at about 6.30pm was captured on video by Mr Muhammad Khair, 21, a student, on his mobile phone camera.
Netizens have slammed the older woman (below) for being unreasonable.
