‘Good that he’s off the streets’

The suspect who allegedly robbed and molested a 17-year-old girl in Woodlands two Saturdays ago has been arrested.

The incident on June 16 made the front page of The New Paper, which also reported that the security camera in the lift where the crime took place turned out to be a dummy.

Yesterday, the girl went to the Jurong Police Divisional Headquarters with her father to identify the suspect.

Said the girl's father: “It’s really good that he’s off the streets."

Who came up with this idea of having dummy cameras in lifts? How much money was spent on installing these dummy cameras and how many more lifts all over Singapore are installed with these cameras?
