Latest statistics from SBS Transit revealed that disputes between passengers on SBS buses have risen by 68 per cent in the last two years.

For the first half of this year, SBS bus drivers attended to 64 incidents, compared to 38 over the same period in 2010.

And a sociologist is suggesting that overcrowding may be a reason for the rise in conflicts taking place on public transport these days.

Said National University of Singapore sociologist Tan Ern Ser: “We all want our personal space and our comfort zone, so if you have people eating into your space, of course you will be upset.”

Overcrowding? The buses today is not as crowded as before during the 70's where the buses were old and noisy.
The problem today is that everyone is just thinking about themselves and not others! Many of the young people haven't tasted the hardship and asking for too much!
