Parliament told of new measures, tougher enforcement to make roads safer

In the first seven days of this month, at least four people have been reported killed in traffic accidents here.

Last year, 169 people died on roads here, which is nearly one fatality every two days.

Second Minister for Home Affairs S. Iswaran spoke on Thursday about the need to take action to make roads safer here.

Measures include increased enforcement in the form of more Traffic Police officers and cameras on the roads.
