In the first seven days of this month, at least four people have been reported killed in traffic accidents here.

Last year, 169 people died on roads here, which is nearly one fatality every two days.

Second Minister for Home Affairs S. Iswaran spoke on Thursday about the need to take action to make roads safer here.

Measures include increased enforcement in the form of more Traffic Police officers and cameras on the roads.

There will be more to come.

The roads are too congested. There are too many heavy vehicles on the road.

Sad to say, many drove recklessly.

About time someone acts. Never too late
