Tubby or not, Carlos Tevez is back. And if the Red Devils are not yet concerned, then they damn well should be.
The Argentine’s stunning hat-trick in his side’s 6-1 victory destruction of Norwich City sent the most ominous of messages to Old Trafford.
The title race is not over, finished or done. The title race is on and the stakes raise; the two horses neck and neck, thanks to the remarkable re-emergence of one of the world’s most thoroughly infuriating thoroughbreds.
When Tevez is temperamental, individualistic, and greedy, he can be repugnant. When he is enthusiastic, effervescent and prepared to sacrifice himself to the City cause, he is a revelation.
At Carrow Road, he wisely opted for the latter. By the time he had wrapped up the hat-trick, City’s title campaign was firmly back on track and hurtling towards their rivals’ once runaway train; the distance narrowed to just two points.
Mind the gap, United.
