The body of Lance Corporal Muhammad Fahrurrazi Salim was found at 2.55am yesterday, 43 hours after he had gone missing on Sunday during a jungle exercise in Temburong, Brunei.

His cousin, Mr Yusri Talib, 38, a rigger, said: “He chose to go to Brunei because the pay was higher, and he was using the money to support the family.

“He spent whatever time he had with the family, did not party, and was very filial.”

Lance Cpl Fahrurrazi’s body was flown back yesterday afternoon in a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 transport plane for a military funeral at the Pusara Abadi Cemetery, where about 200 of his loved ones gathered, with 300 others from his unit, to say goodbye.
