Tucked away in a quiet estate in the west, one man's home has allegedly been turned into a site for commercial pet activities.

Services offered include boarding for toy dogs from $25 a day, sale of chicks from kampung chickens kept in his backyard and even poodle rental - for “tourists...who wish to have a friendly and adorable dog as companion for short periods”.

The man's advertisements on local websites came to the attention of animal lovers here who are upset that he's running an alleged illegal pet hotel.

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore, which issues pet hotels and dog boarding facilities licences, is investigating the case.
