AN AMBULANCE that was attending to an emergency became an emergency itself when it caught fire in the car park of Block 120 Geylang East Central, at 3.10pm yesterday.

Eyewitnesses say huge flames and thick black smoke were billowing from the parked vehicle. They also heard explosions as the fire quickly spread to cars and lorries parked nearby.

No one was hurt as the Singapore Civil Defence Force ambulance crew were attending to a 74-year-old woman who had complained of breathlessness in a nearby HDB block of flats.
