There are more than half a million apps in the Apple App Store, and among them are Singapore-developed ones which have become chart-toppers in app rankings.

Office Politics: Backstab, a whack-a-mole game in an office setting, was created by two game developers who gave up steady $4,000-a-month jobs to run a small game company called The Little Drummer Boy.

Their app, released earlier this month, has since broke into the top-paid apps charts in Singapore and the US.

Paper Ninja, the first locally-developed game to hit No.1 in the competitive US market, is the brainchild of two Singaporeans who took risks to self-finance their game development dreams.
