National Football League (NFL) Division Two club Admiralty FC have been dealt a blow in their bid to go professional.

The club, who have secured promotion to the NFL Division One next season after a dominant season, had expressed interest in joining the S-League.

It is understood that Admiralty's team manager R Vengadasalam (above, far right) had been in discussions with S-League CEO Lim Chin on the matter, since March.

But in responding to TNP's queries, a Football Association of Singapore spokesmam said yesterday the S-League will remain a 13-team competition next season.
