Barefooted man helps to put out fire at neighbour’s unit

Mr Liew Kim Meng, 56, was at home on Tuesday night when his wife noticed a burning smell and thick black smoke from the unit below.

Without even putting his shoes on, he immediately dashed downstairs to help put the fire out.

The family in the affected unit escaped unscathed, though he sustained burns and scratches on his feet from stepping on glass shards in his rescue attempt.
