LUC BESSON, 52, perhaps more than any other film-maker, has made a nice career out of depicting girls with guns, swords and superpowers. One gets the sense that he very much appreciates strong women, more specifically strong women who happen to look like supermodels.

From early efforts such as La Femme Nikita and The Professional to more recent flicks like Adele: Rise Of The Mummy and Colombianacheck (which opens here today), Besson has spread his vision of a world in which the loveliest roses have the deadliest thorns.
