On the evidence of Chelsea's mauling of Queens Park Rangers, Bayern Munich have been warned.

Chelsea are now a different side under interim manager, Roberto Di Matteo.

Di Matteo hasn’t done anything dramatic since taking over, but that probably explains why he’s enjoying so much success. The key players are back in the first team, the shape has returned to normal and those ideas of a high defensive line have been screwed up and thrown into the bin.

Chelsea are as Chelsea were; a flat back four, a tight midfield and one striker flanked by two forwards. They’re happier like this. The sluggishness and lethargy that characterised the last days of Andre Villa-Boas’ reign has gone.
