Blunder deals gutsy Rams cruel defeat

Woodlands Wellington were dealt a cruel blow last night, as a defensive error late into stoppage time cost them the game against Albirex Niigata.

For 92 minutes before a 557-strong crowd, the Rams looked to earn at least a point against their Japanese opponents, who had dominated possession throughout the match.

But a late twist in the tale saw both Rams goalkeeper Ahmadulhaq Che Omar and defender Fabien Lewis misjudge a long ball, which fell kindly to Albirex striker Yasuhiro Yamakoshi.
