Mr Wong Jun Sheng (above, right, with his brother Jun Da) has two reasons to donate blood: One is the inspiration of his father, whom he said has donated blood more than 100 times.

The other is the condition of his brother, Jun Da, 17, who was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was nine. He is in remission now and is waiting to enrol at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts,

Said Mr Wong: “That (the diagnosis) was eight years ago, before I started donating blood. Seeing my brother suffering (from leukaemia) as a kid made me want to donate even more. Somehow, some way, I hoped that my blood would benefit him.”
