Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon arrive at the 16th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles in this January 23, 2010
Celebrity couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon wasted no time in renewing their wedding vows after the birth of their twins on their third wedding anniversary.
Civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton, who performed the ceremony in hospital, tweeted: "Mariah looks GREAT, and the babies are beautiful."
Cannon, who is 11 years younger than the singing sensation, also tweeted to thank Rev Sharpton for his services. He added that he was overjoyed by the birth of his children, a boy and a girl. He said he "was in the happiest place I've ever been in my life."
The presenter of America's Got Talent admitted that he won't be able to match the gift his superstar wife gave him. He said: "My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't be able to top this!"
The birth of their twins comes after the 41-year-old Carey suffered a miscarriage in 2008. Cannon believes this is the reason that they had twins. "I was like, "Don't worry baby, God's gonna bless us in an even bigger way"," he said of the period after Mariah's miscarriage.
"And now we have the abundance of two babies."
