Cheated by daughter, but mum supports her in court

Madam Lee Seok Yan (above, right), 58, a cashier, was cheated out of $4,300 by her own daughter.

But when her daughter, Tricia Tan Si Ying (above, left), 22, appeared in court yesterday (Aug 3) to be sentenced for cheating, Madam Lee was by her side.

Tan had cheated and attempted to cheat 34 people between last December and March this year of $17,800. She pleaded guilty to 18 charges and was given 18 months’ probation.

Outside court, Madam Lee even beseeched the media to leave her daughter alone.
