CID officers reject bribe from arrested woman

A 30-year-old woman, who was first arrested for suspected street walking, was arrested again for offering a bribe to two female police officers.

At 11pm on 2 Sept, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department were conducting spot checks in the area of of Lorong 24 Geylang where the woman was arrested for her suspected involvement in vice-related activities.

The woman then offered the arresting officers, Corporal Nur Farhana and Corporal Nur Amira, S$150 in return for releasing her from Police custody.

The officers immediately rejected the bribe and arrested the woman for attempted robbery.

Police investigations are ongoing and the charge of attempted bribery has also been referred to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).
