BENJAMIN ANG (above) was just 26 and freelancing as a illustrator for advertising companies when he decided to submit his portfolio to Marvel Comics last December.
Today, eyes are on the young Singaporean as a possible rising star in the world of comics: his work caught the eye of Marvel international talent scout C. B. Cebulski and since then he has done two covers – for the comics X-23 and Spiderman – this year.
The New Paper caught up with him at the Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) yesterday at Suntec Convention Centre, which ends today.
The convention hall was transformed into a fanboy's paradise with stormtroopers, samurai and sweet young things in blue wigs milling around. Games, toys, comic and over 80 exclusive collectibles and new product launches were all for the taking.
