Before July, Sim Lim Square was receiving about 20 complaints a month from shoppers who felt that they were cheated or overcharged by certain shops in the popular electronics mall.
But after a complaints kiosk was set up in it on July 1, that number jumped to 41 for that month.
Despite the surge in complaints, Sim Lim Square’s management corporation said that out of its 450 shops, only “six to seven shops are the source of complaints”.
