Crisis below, chaos above, complaints everywhere

SMASHED windows. Fainting spells. People helping one another in the darkness.

These were the scenes underground after four trains stalled on the North-South MRT Line between Marina Bay and Braddell stations yesterday evening following a breakdown.

Meanwhile, it was chaos above as stranded commuters packed bus stops and taxi stands in their bid to get to their destinations.

Although train services resumed at 11.40pm, many Singaporeans were left angry and unhappy. The Land Transport Authority also expressed its concern at the recent series of MRT disruptions.
