Yesterday (June 22), a doctor who sold cough mixture to his patients pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
Ho Thong Chew, 41, faced a total of 35 charges of selling Dhasedyl Syrup -- which contains codeine -- wholesale without a licence.
He broke down in court when pleading for leniency for his wrongdoing and said he did it because of his children, especially for his daughter, who was born with congenital defects.
The prosecution proceeded with 12 of the charges and the rest of the 23 charges will be taken into consideration during sentencing.

He did it for money, not for
He did it for money, not for his daughter. It's an excuse. Obviously a short jail term and his doctor licence suspended the only punishnment the court should impose, no other way. Just like the people selling illegel drugs on dark alleys.
