The Singaporean woman who died in a New Zealand river with a Taiwanese traveller last December had ignored warning signs and showed poor judgment.
West Coast coroner Richard McElrea said this resulted in Ms May Tan Poi Moy (above), 31, and her Taiwanese companion, Ms Chen Yu Ling, 28, getting killed in the Waiho River.
This was according to findings from a inquest into the deaths on Wednesday, which revealed that they had died from head injuries and drowning, The New Zealand Herald reported.
