Employers may seek maids from elsewhere

If employers have to pay more for Filipino maids as stipulated by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, they may turn to maids of other nationalities.

And this would mean a loss of business for agencies that bring in maids only from the Philippines.

The issue of a possible salary increase and payment fees to be borne by employers was discussed at a meeting of the Association of Employment Agencies (Singapore) yesterday.
