WE MAY be observers, but we are also accountable for the results of our athletes.

That is the view of Fencing Singapore president Nicholas Fang in relation to Dr Tan Eng Liang's comments on national sports association (NSA) presidents' roles at major Games.

Fang was the only NSA head willing to speak to The New Paper in the wake of the spat between Dr Tan, who is Singapore's chef de mission to the upcoming South-east Asia Games in Indonesia, and Singapore Table Tennis Association president Lee Bee Wah.
