Fake groom rapes bridal shop owner

A teenager disguised himself as a groom to rape a bridal shop owner in Malaysia.

He pretended to be looking for a suit for his wedding and entered her shop in Bandar Rinching where he drew out a knife.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Wahab said: "The 19-year-old youth entered the shop on the pretence of ordering some attire for his wedding and started talking to the shop owner.

"Moments later, he pulled out a knife and locked the shop’s main door, before ordering the woman to strip naked."

He added that the man then forced himself on the 29-year-old woman and raped her.

But his thrill was short-lived when the woman’s husband came to the shop and overpowered him before calling the police.

The accused could be jailed for up to 20 years and caned if convicted.
