Fandi returns to his roots

Local football legend Fandi Ahmad is going back to school.

Not as a student, but as a sports ambassador for ITE colleges in Singapore.

The 49-year-old alumnus of ITE Balestier (formerly known as Singapore Vocational Institute) announced that he would be collaborating with ITE as a sports ambassador to promote sports programmes and initiatives for ITE students.

To kick things off, Fandi has pledged $3,000 out of his pocket to the "Fandi Ahmad Football Scholarship Award".
