Almost a week after the fatal accident involving a Ferrari he drove, Mr Ma Chi’s wife has apologised publicly for it.

Mrs Ma, who is also known as Madam He Ting Ting, was reported yesterday as having asked a friend to help her put up five posts on Chinese micro-blogging website, Weibo.

In the first post, she said that she felt deeply apologetic towards the families of the taxi driver, Mr Cheng Teck Hock, 52, and his female Japanese passenger, Ms Shigemi Ito, 41, both of whom died in the accident.

But Mr Muhammad Najib Ghazali, 26, one of the survivors of the fatal crash that left three dead, told The New Paper yesterday that the apology came too late.

Meanwhile, netizens are asking why it's so easy for foreigners to drive in Singapore, why no airbags were installed in cabs, and why the victims had not been sent to a hospital nearer to the scene of the accident.
