A fire broke out at about 1pm yesterday inside an exhaust duct at Singapore Polytechnic's Foodcourt 4, operated by Koufu.
A woman confirmed that the fire had started from the stall she was tending to, but declined to comment further.
The New Paper understands that someone had been cooking when flames shot from the stove into the exhaust duct overhead, which then caught fire.
No one was injured in the incident, but the flames shooting through the roof of the building and thick plumes of smoke got students excited.
