Five key LionsXII players should feature prominently in Singapore’s friendly against Myanmar tonight in Yangon.

National football coach Raddy Avramovic told The New Paper that injuries continue to plague his preparations for the year-end Suzuki Cup as Shahril Ishak, Khairul Amri, Qiu Li and Shi Jiayi have yet to recover fully and are unlikely to play.

As a result, the 62-year-old Serb is left to choose his starting 11 from just 15 players, including three goalkeepers, after bringing a 19-man squad to Myanmar.

Seven players from the previous squad stayed in Singapore due to national service commitments or injury.

This means Izwan Mahbud, Irwan Shah, Baihakki Khaizan, Shaiful Esah and Shahdan Sulaiman should be thrown into the fray from the start, and LionsXII coach V Sundramoorthy has to keep his fingers crossed they will all come through unscathed, ahead of their crucial Malaysia Cup game against Johor FC on Friday.
