Flames were 4m high

A fire broke out at Rowell Road at about 6pm on Tuesday.

When the The Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived at the shophouse, the fire was raging and there was thick, black smoke.

Residents of Rowell Road said that they could smell smoke from blocks away.
