More Singaporean fashion designers are sending their designs sashaying their way overseas – and they are doing well, even in saturated fashion markets like London and Tokyo.
Ms Jo Soh, who launched her label, hansel, at the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in 2003 has garnered positive reviews from international press.
She has won fashion design awards in Hong Kong and Singapore, and was even picked as part of the “Secret Elite” label directory by prestigious UK-based design and lifestyle magazine Wallpaper.
And her clothes have been worn by international stars like Katy Perry.
Overseas success has also come knocking on the door of other designers like Mr Eugene Lin, Ms Danelle Woo, Mr Nicholas Wong and Ms Goh Ling Ling.
