Divided by disharmony and spoiled by selfishness, France never stood a chance against Spain, as they lost 2-0 in the Euro 2012 quarter-finals this morning (Singapore time)

Laurent Blanc has worked tirelessly for two years to rid his nation of the demons that destroyed their 2010 World Cup campaign, but there’s only so much one man can do.

Reports of a serious spat between Samir Nasri and Alou Diarra, the latter apparently taking exception to the former’s lack of effort, were unconfirmed, but neither man started this match.

If that was Blanc’s attempt to rid the team of malcontents, it wasn’t enough. There were still plenty of them out on the pitch.

Nicolas Anelka may have departed, but his spirit lives on.

The French football team will never be a powerhouse again, all being arrogant and selfish. Only Spain and Germany prevail today, either one will win this European tournament or next World Cup. The rest even England team are second class.
