HE WAS caught in a wave of change that swept through Aljunied GRC.
Foreign Minister George Yeo was defeated at the general elections that saw an electorate that chose the Workers' Party to be their voice in parliament.
However, Mr Yeo continues to receive a torrent of support as voters come to grips with the aftermath.
Despite calls for him to remain in politics, Mr Yeo revealed at a press conference yesterday that he would not contest in Aljunied at the following elections.
However, the 57-year-old emphasised that the People's Action Party must look hard at itself and effect change from within.
Mr Yeo said: "I will help in whatever way I can to bring about this transformation of the PAP.
"I wish I had a mandate from the people of Aljunied to be a strong advocate of such transformation.
"But I don’t."
