For five minutes, Mr Ismail Adan stood silently in the grave, saying goodbye to his only daughter for the last time.

He was the last to leave her grave at the Lim Chu Kang Muslim cemetery.

His daughter, Nur Aisyah Ismail, 13, collapsed after a 2.4km run on Wednesday.

She died in hospital.

That day was also her birthday, which she shares with twin brother Muhammad Ashraf Ismail.

A post-mortem revealed that Nur Aisyah suffered cardiorespiratory failure, which means her heart and lungs failed to function.

The cause of her death is still pending further investigation.

Condolences to Nur Aisyah's family. I am so sorry for their loss.
