GERMANY'S attacking football may be easy on the eye, but it's useless if they cannot win any major tournaments, according to former international Dietmar Hamann.
In Singapore as part of a tour of the region courtesy of Dentsu Sports Asia, Hamann dished out some hard truths about his country's failure to deliver yet again, this time at Euro 2012.
After watching Die Mannschaft succumb 2-1 to Italy in the semi-final early yesterday morning, the 38-year-old told The New Paper that this group of talented youngsters cannot be considered a golden generation unless they win the European Championships or the World Cup.
As for his beloved Liverpool, whom he helped win the Champions League in 2005, Hamann doesn't think that they can qualify for the competition after a three year's absence.
