Hariss will get European trials 'for sure'

Jorge Mendes, the agent of Manchester United star Luis Nani, yesterday reiterated his desire to help national midfielder Hariss Harun launch his career in Europe.

Speaking at the sidelines of the Copa Singapura youth football tournament at ITE College Central, the Portuguese (above) reaffirmed that plans to secure the LionsXII vice-captain a contract at a European football club are still underway.

Mendes said Hariss is "a very talented player" and "he’ll have an opportunity for sure”.

While he declined to be drawn into timelines, Mendes had previously stated that he wants the midfield dynamo to be “assessed by a few coaches first to get him the best possible deal and he must be here before the European season starts in August 2013”.
