HDB probe on 'illegal subletting of flat'

THE FLAMES may have died down, but talk is raging about the family that stayed in the 14th storey flat at Block 1 Maude Road.

Who were the three other women who escaped from the flat as the fire broke out on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival? Why didn't they alert anyone else after the blaze was reportedly started by a burning lantern?

To add to the mystery, the Housing Development Board is probing the situation for the illegal subletting of the flat.
