He rapes girl and calls her 'wife'

A 25-year-old man was sentenced to 11 years’ jail and eight strokes of the cane yesterday for the rape of a 13-year-old girl.

About a month after he started dating the girl's then 18-year-old sister in 2005, he moved into her home as he did not have a place of his own.

When his relationship ended a year later, the girl's family let him stay one until he could find a place of his own, even though the then-21-year-old part-time security guard was reportedly abusive.

Around that time, he began focusing his attention on his ex-girlfriend's 13-year-old sister.
