Mr Peter Seow, 57, a book keeper, has gone through not one but two kidney transplants. And he had to wait 13 years for the second kidney - far longer than the typical seven years that those on the transplant list endure.
He knew the odds were against him because he had already had one transplant, in 1981, with a kidney donated by his father. But the kidney failed in 1995 and the waiting game for another transplant started.
But, said Mr Seow, about being a recipient for a donated organ: "You may miss the bus, but I tell myself there’s another one that will come."
He finally got his second new kidney - from a dead donor - in 2009.
