Many were hurt by MM Lee's remarks about Malay-Muslim integration in his book Hard Truths.

And the timing of the comments, in January, could have been a factor in the General Election (GE).

But the Malay-Muslim community has "grown used to the discussions" and is able to face some of the issues squarely, said the outgoing Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed.

To those present at the press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Mr Zainul also said thanks but no thanks to the possibility of him becoming the new Speaker of Parliament.
