An early morning collision on the East Coast Parkway on May 23 landed four men in the hospital. One of them, Mr Hazrat Ali, 36, a Bangladeshi, died on Wednesday.
Company driver, Mr Yong Kwan Kok, 50, was driving with his four colleagues onboard his lorry when an Audi hit the rear of the vehicle.
The impact of the crash sent the lorry veering wildly out of control. It hit the expressway railing and was left hanging precariously over a roadside drain.
The crash threw two of Mr Yong's colleagues, who were sitting in the back of the lorry, out of the vehicle. Mr Yong and his other two colleagues, who were seated in the front, crawled out of the lorry.
A police spokesman said that the driver of the Audi, a Chinese man, was arrested for drink driving. Investigations are ongoing.
