The Singaporean woman in her 50s must have seemed easy prey to a would-be robber lurking inside a women’s toilet in Johor Baru.

But what he didn’t account for when he grabbed her by the neck at knife-point was that her scream would alert her husband, who knows "a bit of martial arts".

Mr Choong Chee Wah (above), 56, a freelance technical consultant, swung into action to free his wife from the robber's grip after hearing her scream.

Mr Choong subdued the robber, holding him down with his "tiger's claws" grip on his neck, till the man begged for mercy.
