The newly-crowned Miss Singapore World 2012 almost pulled out of the competition because of her height.

Miss Karisa Sukamto, 19, is only 1.6m tall, which is unprecedented for a Miss World winner.

But her charm and personality won over the judges on Wednesday night.

With the international finals in August looming, Miss Sukamto says that she will stand her ground.

She says she will represent Singapore, and tell the rest of the contestants what being Singaporean is all about.
