It’s a Budget with a simple message – leave no Singaporean behind.

Budget 2012 proposes increased CPF contributions for older workers, subsidies at community hospitals, more help for the disabled and improvements to public transport.

It also aims to help poor people like housewife Tan Miu Muay (above), who has a liver ailment but has not seen a doctor in 10 years because she couldn't afford it.

Now, she will benefit from a new GST voucher scheme, a permanent system of offsets to help lower-income Singaporean households.
