When the chance came for Temasek Polytechnic student Teh Kaiwen to embark on a digital forensics internship in Interpol last May, he grabbed it.

Mr Teh, 24, spent four months working in the international police organisation's office in Lyon, France.

The experience inspired the cyber and digital security student to develop an application known as Facebook Forensic Toolkit for his final-year project.

With the toolkit, police can trace suspects’ frequent hang-outs and track them through the location sharing function on the social networking site.
